Natural Barefoot Trimming

In order to properly rehabilitate and retrain a horse, it is crucial that they be comfortable in their bodies physically, mentally and intellectually. Physical comfort must start at the feet as this is the base for the whole skeletal and muscular foundation.

A horse's hoof and coffin bone angles are extremely important. Without proper angles, horses can develop all kinds of problems in the shoulders, backs, etc., that no amount of massage or chiropractic treatment can help. They also develop behavioral problems and will not be able to perform or develop their peak potential.

Barefoot trimming is not a pasture trim nor is it simply removing shoes. A barefoot trimmer has studied the science and function of horse's feet, will measure all angles and correct them if necessary, as well as balance your horse's feet.

Good barefoot trimmers are rare and few. At the Academy, we have teamed up with Aeron E. King in order to make your horse's experience with a farrier a pleasant one. Aeron takes the time to listen to your horses needs and respects their fears and concerns. He also takes the time to answer any questions you may have in regards to barefoot trimming and will suggests resources to support your horses overall health.
